Axpo expands paternity leave to support gender equality and family life

Parental Leave Policy

Axpo Italia, a leading energy operator in Italy, is committed to advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the workplace. The company recently announced a significant enhancement to its paternity leave policy, emphasizing the importance of gender equality and family support. This is just one of several initiatives to address the evolving needs of parents and caregivers while ensuring fairness and inclusivity in the workplace.

Axpo’s commitment to gender equality and family support

Starting this year, Axpo has doubled the statutory paternity leave, offering employees an additional 10 days of paid leave, going beyond the current legislation. This change supports employees in balancing family responsibilities and work commitments. Axpo also introduced paid leave for pre- and post-natal medical visits, providing eight hours of paid leave for fathers. These measures are designed to help employees navigate the challenges of parenthood while fostering a family-friendly work environment

Supporting parents and caregivers through DEI initiatives

Axpo’s dedication to DEI is further demonstrated through its collaboration with La Luna Del Grano, a startup providing company training for parents. The company is also launching educational sessions to support new mothers in balancing work and family life. These initiatives are aligned with Axpo’s sustainability profile, which includes a strong focus on people, progress, and ethical business practices.

Future steps toward greater gender parity and employee wellbeing

In addition to the expanded paternity leave, Axpo is working to integrate policies that promote gender balance in the workplace. The company has received certification for gender equality, and continues to prioritize the well-being of its employees by offering resources and training to challenge gender bias and foster an inclusive culture.
